Family Day Closure – February 16
The Business Development Centre will be closed Monday, February 16 in observance of Family Day. Municipal administrative services resume regular hours on Tuesday, February 17.
Businesses requiring permits, consultations, or economic development support are encouraged to plan accordingly. Online resources and application portals remain accessible during the closure.
Film Industry Toolkit Workshops
In partnership with South Georgian Bay Media Association & Tourism Simcoe County
A two-part workshop series designed to position local businesses to benefit from film and television production activity in Simcoe County. Sessions provide practical guidance on how productions source locations, vendors, workforce, and services.
Session 1: Locations & Location Services

- How productions scout and secure filming locations
- Preparing properties for film readiness
- Insurance, permitting, and municipal coordination
- Working with location managers
Session 2: Business, Vendors, Services & Workforce

- Catering, accommodations, transportation, trades
- Registering as a production vendor

Creating Safer Business Districts (CPTED)
Hosted by Ontario Provincial Police – Collingwood Detachment

MNP LLP – 10 Year Anniversary
MNP LLP recently celebrated 10 years of service in Collingwood, marking a decade of professional accounting, tax advisory, and business consulting support to local enterprises.
Collingwood Partners Darrin Smith and Jody Kraan were recognized for their leadership and community contribution. Municipal representatives including Mayor Yvonne Hamlin, Deputy Mayor Tim Fryer, and Councillors Kathy Jeffery, Christopher Baines, and Steve Perry attended, along with Doug Measures.
A commemorative plaque was presented acknowledging MNP’s role in supporting regional business growth and economic development.
