Looking for things to do this March in the Blue Mountains area? The Blue Mountains Public Library has put together an impressive lineup of events for all ages – from inspiring speaker series to hands-on March Break activities for kids.
Lead Like Her – International Women’s Day Speaker Series

Every Thursday in March, the library is hosting an inspiring speaker series celebrating women in leadership. Each evening features a different accomplished woman sharing her career journey and insights.
March 12 from 6 to 8pm at L.E. Shore Library
Mary Hindle, Firefighter – Learn about working on the front lines of emergency services and leading in high-pressure situations.
March 19 from 7 to 9pm at Marsh Street Centre
Dr. Barbara Zimmerman, Environmental Scientist – Hear about her work in environmental science and the role of leadership in science and the arts.
March 26 from 6 to 8pm at L.E. Shore Library
Blue Mountain Chamber: Women in Business – A panel of five local women professionals working in non-traditional fields.
April 2 from 7 to 9pm at Marsh Street Centre
Maj. Brasseur, First Canadian Women Fighter Pilot – Stories from her career in the Canadian Armed Forces and aviation.

March Break – The No Bake Bake Off
Keep the kids entertained during March Break with a week of no-bake cooking activities. All programs are free with registration required, perfect for ages 8 and up.
Monday, March 16 at 11am – Cupcake Decorating with Purdy Cakes. Learn to make buttercream and decorate cupcakes with personality.
Tuesday, March 17 at 1pm – Bugs in Dirt. Kids will make this classic treat.
Wednesday, March 18 at 11am – Icebox Cake. Cool, creamy, and no oven required.
Thursday, March 19 at 11am – No-Bake Cheesecake. The easiest cheesecake recipe around.
Friday, March 20 at 11am – Chocolate Lasagna. Ending the week with a chocolate finale.
Also on Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30pm, there is a mystery game for ages 12 and up called Who Dunnit – The Case of the Sabotaged Bake Off. Teams will crack clues and solve puzzles.

Seed Starting and Propagation Workshop
March 23 from 1 to 3pm at L.E. Shore Library. Join the Grey County Master Gardeners for hands-on learning about starting seeds and propagating plants.
Sewing Foundations Workshop
March 24 from 1 to 4pm at L.E. Shore Library. Learn sewing machine basics while making a drawstring bag. All supplies included.
Death Cafe
March 25 from 6 to 8pm at L.E. Shore Library. An open, relaxed discussion about death and dying in a comfortable setting.
Art Critique Workshop with Michelle Fleming
March 14 from 1 to 3pm. Get constructive feedback on your artwork from a local instructor.

Did you know you can borrow a Toronto Zoo library pass for a one-week loan? It admits 2 adults and up to 4 children – perfect for a family outing.
Towns of the Blue Mountains Series
The Craigleith Heritage Depot has released Episode 1 of their new documentary series, The Land and Its People. This episode explores the geological history of the escarpment and the Indigenous stewardship by the Anishnaabek, Haudenosaunee, and Wendat peoples.
